If you’ve been eager to see what FromSoftware’s mysterious new multiplayer title has to offer, your first opportunity is almost here. The Duskbloods will host its first closed network test in August, giving selected players an early look before the game’s full release in 2026.
Registration Opens Soon
FromSoftware has confirmed that applications for The Duskbloods closed network test will be accepted from July 22 through July 28. Players chosen for the test will be able to jump into the action during the testing period, which runs from August 21 to August 23.
To be eligible, you’ll need:
- A Nintendo Switch 2 console
- An active Nintendo Switch Online subscription
The network test will support eight-player multiplayer sessions, offering players an early taste of the game’s online-focused gameplay.
What Will the Network Test Cover?
According to FromSoftware, the primary goal of the closed network test is to evaluate several technical and gameplay systems before launch. The development team will be gathering feedback and data related to:
- Server performance and stability
- Multiplayer functionality and issue resolution
- Overall game balance
The studio hasn’t revealed how much of The Duskbloods will be accessible during the test. However, considering the game’s unique direction compared to the developer’s previous releases, participants should get a meaningful preview of its core multiplayer experience.
A New Direction for FromSoftware
While early screenshots have drawn comparisons to Bloodborne thanks to the gothic aesthetic, The Duskbloods is shaping up to be a very different experience. Rather than focusing on the traditional single-player RPG formula that FromSoftware is known for, the game places multiplayer at the center of its design.
That makes the August network test especially valuable for players who want to see whether this fresh approach is worth picking up when the full game launches.
Launch Window
The Duskbloods is currently scheduled to release in 2026 as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive. Until then, the upcoming closed network test will offer the first public opportunity to experience the game firsthand before launch.
