The graphics are distinctive and stylish, more like an anime RPG than a classic Final Fantasy style. It has a diverse world with different themed lands and towns to discover. Cherry trees are blooming all year round in some areas, a seaside town with the bustling tavern, and a village with a vibrant look of the four seasons. There is even an all-year snow country in the game. With the great-looking world map, you can travel to all these wonderful places and raid their respective dungeons. You will find beautiful crystals (this is the truth, Square Enix made this pretty game) which control the true weather in Harvestella’s world.
In the game, you take up the role of a fighter a mage, or a shadow walker. Nothing special comes in your way, they are not complicated like the fighter using physical strikes, the mage works through spells and the shadow walker is like a ninja or assassin. You will gain different skill sets if you progress with them, but you have to take part in life simulation parts of the game too like growing fruits and vegetables in your fields like a country-side farmer. You can later sell them or use them as crafting material you have encountered in nowadays RPGs. If you create food and items from your crops, it will grant an extremely powerful effect for the adventures which are waiting for you. You can also herd animals for different purposes. You meet with fantastic characters who will aid you in your fate. They have their own detailed backstory, character, abilities, and traits.
Harvestella is a good start for either beginners of Square Enix fandom or veteran fans because it places the player in a special place and gives a new gaming experience. The high-quality graphics and music show that the company never gets old when it comes to RPG games.
