About Halo Wars: Definitive Edition
Halo Wars: Definitive Edition has beautiful graphics that are more appealing than the original one. This edition is an enhanced version of the real-time strategy classic, Halo Wars, updated to run natively on PC. The whole game was handled by Behavior Interactive, but you can still see the Microsoft logo in the intro reminding us, where this gem came from. The two factions have unique designs that players can tell them easily apart. The original engine was based on the Age of Mythology. The environment is rich, the units are well-designed and the vehicles have realistic movement animation.
You can see infantry units make realistic stuff like changing ammo in their guns. The UNSC vehicles turn when they bypass an obstacle. The alien Covenants have their own charm in animation. They are insect-like beings. However, the biggest popularity goes to the commando who represents Master Chief. The developers paid special attention to the Spartan units. Without Master Chief Halo is not Halo.
You can start a campaign that lets you play only as humans. The alien race covenant is only for the single-player skirmish option. At the start of the game, you get an HQ which you can upgrade with economy, defensive, barracks, and factory buildings. You can upgrade everything, which is a mandatory for an RTS game. A narrator is guiding you throughout your gameplay, he informs you about enemy engagement, completed buildings, completed units, and the development of HQ.
Units of both factions have special abilities. You can learn it from the exciting tutorial the game invites from the menü. UNSC got a weapon of mass destruction while Covenants have a laser blast from the sky.
Gamers, who do not know much about strategy games, can pick up and play this, it is a good start. Gathering resources and training troops are really cool and spicy. Battling enemies are really entertaining thanks to the polished gameplay.
I can recommend this game to everyone who loves a nice combat strategy game. Graphics, sound effects, and music will be familiar, if you’ve ever played anything from the Age of Empires series.
