Epic Games Store Is Giving Away Two Very Different Games for Free This Week

The Epic Games Store is back with another round of free PC games, and this week’s lineup offers two very different adventures. Whether you fancy solving a bizarre sci-fi mystery alongside an immortal chicken or building your reputation in the world of horse racing, there’s something new to add to your library.

Epic refreshes its free game selection every Thursday at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET, typically offering at least one PC title at no cost. Some weeks are even more generous, with two or three games available simultaneously.

Claiming them is straightforward. You’ll need a free Epic account with two-factor authentication enabled. Once you claim a game during its promotional period, it becomes part of your library. You generally have one week to grab each batch before the next selection replaces it.

Epic has already handed out hundreds of PC games through the program, and there’s currently no indication that these regular giveaways are going away anytime soon. The company has also expanded its free-game initiative to Android, where players can claim additional games on a weekly basis.

Breathedge takes players into space for an unusual sci-fi survival adventure. Following a spaceship disaster, you’ll have to investigate what happened and uncover the truth behind the crash. You won’t be tackling the mystery alone, either—your journey includes an immortal chicken, which should give you an idea of the game’s decidedly unconventional sense of humor.

For something considerably more grounded, Rival Stars Horse Racing: Desktop Edition puts you in charge of your own equestrian journey. Players can immerse themselves in the world of horse racing, take the reins in competitive events, and work toward becoming an equestrian legend.
