Embark Studios is giving players one last chance to dive into Arc Raiders before launch, with an exclusive cosmetic reward up for grabs.
Despite previously stating there would be no further playtests, developer Embark Studios has confirmed one final weekend trial for its upcoming PvPvE extraction shooter. The Server Slam Open Test runs from October 17–19 on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The goal is simple: push the servers to their limits before the official release later this month.
What to Expect in the Open Test
During the weekend, players will be able to explore the Dam Battlegrounds while testing out progression systems, crafting elements, and a series of quests. Keep in mind, though, that progress from this test won’t carry over to the full release.
As a thank-you, anyone who participates will unlock an exclusive Arc Raiders backpack cosmetic that will be available in the full game.
Easy Access for All
The test is open to everyone aged 16 and up, with no invites or keys required. Simply download the client during the event window and you’ll get hands-on with the game before launch.
Competition and Release Details
Earlier this year, many expected a crowded showdown between extraction shooters, as Arc Raiders was set to release close to Bungie’s Marathon. However, Marathon has since been delayed indefinitely after facing controversy over alleged art theft, clearing the field for Arc Raiders.
Unlike many shooters in the genre, Arc Raiders won’t be free-to-play. Instead, the full game will launch at $40 on October 30.
A Packed October for Gamers
It’s worth noting that Arc Raiders will be competing with some major releases on the calendar. Just before its debut, players will also see the arrival of The Outer Worlds 2, Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake, Ninja Gaiden 4, and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. October is shaping up to be an exciting – if crowded – month for gamers.
