Monster Hunter Wilds Heats Up with Lagiacrus, Seregios, and Underwater Battles in Latest Update
The world of Monster Hunter Wilds is getting even wilder. Capcom has officially announced that Title Update 2 will arrive on June 30, and it’s packed with exciting new content – including two fan-favorite monsters and the long-awaited return of underwater combat.
Lagiacrus and Seregios Join the Hunt
Two iconic monsters are making their return to the hunt: Lagiacrus and Seregios.
- Lagiacrus, a fearsome sea wyvern, thrives in aquatic environments. While the trailer showcased it clashing with hunters on land, Capcom confirmed that underwater combat is also making a comeback – something the community has long been hoping for.
- Seregios, the golden-scaled wyvern known for its aggressive aerial attacks, is also rejoining the roster. Both creatures will become available when the update goes live at the end of June.
Cosmetics, Events, and What’s Next
Capcom also laid out a roadmap for what’s coming next in Monster Hunter Wilds this summer:
- June 30: Alongside the new monsters, players will get access to fresh layered weapons, emotes, and other cosmetic DLC.
- Late July: Prepare for the arrival of Arch Temper Uth Duna, a new tempered monster sure to challenge even the most seasoned hunters.
- July 23 – August 6: The Festival of Accord: Flamefete kicks off – a summer-themed in-game event filled with limited-time cosmetics and event quests.
- August 27: A fun collaboration with Fender Guitars will bring a unique guitar-inspired emote to the game.
- Late September: Title Update 3 will introduce another monster, though Capcom is keeping that reveal under wraps for now.
Quality-of-Life Improvements and Ongoing Issues
Title Update 2 isn’t just about monsters and cosmetics. Capcom is also adding layered weapon options and upgrades to photo mode, including enhanced lighting controls for better in-game snapshots.
However, not everything is rosy – especially for PC players. Capcom didn’t address ongoing performance problems on that platform, such as unstable frame rates and launch issues following updates. Players are still waiting for fixes and optimizations.
This update marks a major step forward for Monster Hunter Wilds, mixing nostalgia with fresh gameplay and visuals. Whether you’re returning to take on Lagiacrus in the depths or eager to celebrate at the Flamefete festival, there’s plenty to look forward to this summer.
