CDPR Keeps the Support Rolling
CD Projekt Red (CDPR) has confirmed that it still has fresh content in the pipeline for Cyberpunk 2077. Despite earlier statements that Patch 2.2 would be the game’s last major tune-up, the studio revealed during its latest RedStreams broadcast that an even larger update—Patch 2.3—lands at the end of this month.
“The last one wasn’t the last one,” joked senior community manager Alicja Kozera. Fellow spokesperson Marcin Momot chimed in, “We’re not done yet!”
Patch 2.3 Arrives June 26
Patch 2.3 is scheduled to deploy on June 26, though CDPR is still keeping its exact contents under wraps. Pawel Sasko, quest director and longtime Cyberpunk 2077 champion, teased that the team has been “cooking in secret” and will reveal full patch notes closer to launch. Until then, Momot asked fans to “let the team cook!”
Night City’s Road to Reinvention
Cyberpunk 2077 debuted in December 2020 to technical turmoil—but that didn’t stop it from shifting 13.7 million copies in its first few weeks. A steady barrage of updates eventually culminated in the transformative Patch 2.0, widely viewed as a soft relaunch. The Phantom Liberty expansion, starring Idris Elba, followed in September 2023, pushing lifetime sales past 30 million.
What’s Next After Patch 2.3?
While a full-blown sequel—colloquially dubbed Cyberpunk 2—is already in pre-production, most of CDPR’s developers are currently devoted to the next Witcher saga. Still, Patch 2.3 proves that Night City isn’t headed to retirement just yet.
Cyberpunk 2077 Comes to Switch 2
In related news, CDPR recently confirmed a native port for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. The studio said the process was “less challenging than expected,” suggesting that the handheld’s beefier hardware can keep pace with Night City’s neon glare.
Bottom Line: CDPR’s promise of “one more big update” turned into a lot more. With Patch 2.3 set to drop on June 26, Cyberpunk 2077 continues its improbable journey from rocky launch to RPG juggernaut—ensuring chooms everywhere still have plenty of chrome-plated reasons to jack in.
