Legion Remix Officially Revealed
Blizzard dropped big news at PAX East’s Evolving Azeroth panel: Legion is the next World of Warcraft expansion to get the wildly popular Remix makeover. Associate game director Jeremy Feasel confirmed the project and gave players a peek behind the curtain at how the team is re-engineering one of WoW’s most content-rich eras.
“Legion has way more systems than Mists of Pandaria,” Feasel explained, “so we’re digging deep to decide which ones we’ll remix, which we’ll enhance, and which fresh twists we can add.”
With so many moving parts, Blizzard isn’t ready to announce a launch date just yet—but the first details already have theorycrafters buzzing.
Mythic Keystones, Unleashed
Legion introduced Mythic + Keystones, and they’re first in line for the Remix treatment. Picture the over-the-top item scaling from Mists Remix applied to Mythic +, then crank the dial past 11.
Feasel can’t wait to watch players “break the game—in the best possible way.” Expect sky-high Keystone levels, absurd power spikes, and leaderboard races that make last year’s sprint through Pandaria look tame.
Enter the Shattered Timeline: A New World Tier
Blizzard is also adding an extra-difficult world tier called Shattered Timeline. Inspired by Diablo’s tiered worlds, this timeline imagines “everything went worse,” ramping up enemy strength across the board. It’s perfect for seasoned heroes who thrive on punishment—and the souped-up gear drops that come with it.
A Quick Recap: From Pandaria to Legion
The first-ever WoW Remix—Mists of Pandaria—landed around this time last year. Players blitzed from level 10 to max, hoarding powerful catch-up gear and nostalgic cosmetics. The event’s runaway success kicked off speculation about which expansion would be next. Now we have our answer, and Legion’s legendary artifact weapons, class halls, and demon-slaying storylines are poised for an encore—this time, bigger and bolder.
What’s Next?
Blizzard promises more details “soon,” including how artifacts, class campaigns, and legendary items will evolve in Remix form. For now, sharpen those glaives and clear your Keystone calendar—the Broken Isles are about to get beautifully broken all over again.
