The update will feature the Holiday Event, a PvP rework, and a new instance with the boss Aqua Regis together with an introductory quest that will give players more information about the Laboratory and the experiments of the past. Date of update: December 21st.
“The Aqua Regis location is the fourth boss instance introduced since the release. It’ll be the last update in the current year, but we aren’t slowing down – we still have a lot of ideas and plans to implement. Thank you all for your support and we wish you all the best in the coming New Year!” – says the founder of the studio, Krzysztof Danilewicz.
The instance is meant for characters ca. level 70 and it features four legendary items (Tsunami, Aquenirs, Aquariuses, Current) that players can get by defeating the main boss – Aqua Regis. The instance has an introductory quest that provides background information about the Laboratory and the horrible experiments conducted therein, meant to develop the ultimate weapon against Haligard.
“Together with the update, we’re also making some changes to the current PvP system to make it more consensual. We are aware of the fact that PvP preferences in the genre have shifted over the years and our current system doesn’t fit in. We want everyone to find something for themselves in our game and be able to enjoy it no matter their style. That’s why we decided to move some things from this quarter and focus our strength on the PvP rework. We’re also adding some extra elements that were originally planned to be introduced much later on. We believe that the changes will let players who do not enjoy PvP have a more peaceful experience and that the new system will be more engaging for our PvP fans.” – adds Danilewicz.
The update introduces the faction system (Unionists, Free Spirits, Rogues) with seasonal competitions, rankings, ranks, daily activities, and rewards. Every season will last four weeks. Players will also be able to enable peaceful mode. If a player does not join a faction or enables peaceful mode, they will not be able to attack or be attacked by other playes in any area other than white.

The last update of this year also introduces the Holiday Event. It will begin on December 23rd at 6 PM and end on January 2nd at 10 AM. Players will be able to join one side of the Holiday conflict, complete activities, and collect hats and stars that can be exchanged for gifts. The event is divided into several level ranges. The event, long-awaited by the community, is a great opportunity to get a lot of experience, gold, other currencies, boss entry tickets, and other utility items.

Broken Ranks is a successor to the MMORPG The Pride of Taern. It boasts a unique, turn-based combat system and a grim, low-fantasy world seen from an isometric view. The title is reminiscent of such classics as the HoM&M series or Baldur’s Gate.
