Star Wars fans have plenty to look forward to in 2025, and one of the franchise’s most anticipated upcoming games may be arriving much sooner than many expected. While Galactic Racer is set to bring high-speed competition back to the Star Wars universe later this year, another adventure from the galaxy far, far away could be just weeks from launch.
Star Wars Zero Company Reportedly Launching in August
First revealed during Star Wars Celebration last year, Star Wars Zero Company is an upcoming single-player, turn-based strategy game being developed by Bit Reactor in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment. The title has drawn attention for its tactical gameplay, which has been compared to the popular XCOM series.
A full gameplay showcase is scheduled to debut during Summer Game Fest later this week, where fans are expected to learn more about the project, including its official release date. However, a new report may have already revealed when players can get their hands on the game.
According to Dealabs writer and well-known leaker billbil-kun, Star Wars Zero Company is currently planned to launch on August 27 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Reported Pricing Details
The report also suggests that pricing will vary depending on platform.
According to the leaked information:
- Standard Edition: $50 on PC
- Standard Edition: $60 on consoles
- Digital Deluxe Edition: $60 on PC
- Digital Deluxe Edition: $70 on consoles
Billbil-kun was unable to provide details regarding the additional content included in the Digital Deluxe Edition. However, the report states that there are currently no plans for early access, meaning all players would gain access to the game on the same day.
A Return to Star Wars Strategy Gaming
Star Wars Zero Company takes place during the Clone Wars era, positioning its story between Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.
The game is described as a darker, more grounded narrative centered on an elite squad operating behind the front lines of the conflict. Players will lead this specialized team under the command of Hawks, a former Republic officer tasked with navigating some of the war’s most dangerous missions.
Perhaps most notably, Zero Company marks the return of large-scale Star Wars strategy gaming after a lengthy absence. The last major entry in the genre was Star Wars: Empire at War, which originally launched in 2006. That makes Zero Company the franchise’s first dedicated strategy title in nearly two decades.
With a gameplay reveal just around the corner and an August launch reportedly on the horizon, Star Wars fans may not have to wait much longer to see whether this tactical adventure can live up to the legacy of the genre’s classics.
