Diablo 4 is set to introduce a fresh batch of skills and passives for all classes in Season 6. These additions come as part of a broader update, which also includes progression improvements, new Elixirs, enemies, and more.
In Diablo 4, players select one of five classes to battle through the dark world of Sanctuary. As they progress, they earn points to unlock active skills and passives, allowing for a variety of character builds. A well-known example is the Whirlwind Barbarian build, where the Whirlwind active skill serves as the primary source of damage. With the upcoming season, Blizzard has revealed significant changes to this gameplay system, including the introduction of new active skills and passives.
For the Barbarian, a new active skill called Mighty Throw will be introduced, with potential upgrades to Enhanced Mighty Throw, and a choice between Fighter’s Mighty Throw or Warrior’s Mighty Throw. Druids will gain the Stone Burst skill, which can be enhanced and further upgraded to Primal Stone Burst or Raging Stone Burst. The Necromancer’s new active skill, Soulrift, will evolve into either Supreme Soulrift or Prime Soulrift. Rogues will receive Dance of Knives, with upgrades to Enhanced Dance of Knives and further advancements into Methodical Dance of Knives or Disciplined Dance of Knives. Sorcerers will unlock Familiar, which can be upgraded to Enhanced Familiar, and then either Summoned Familiar or Invoked Familiar.
New Active Skills by Class:
- Barbarian: Mighty Throw → Enhanced Mighty Throw → Fighter’s Mighty Throw / Warrior’s Mighty Throw
- Druid: Stone Burst → Enhanced Stone Burst → Primal Stone Burst / Raging Stone Burst
- Necromancer: Soulrift → Supreme Soulrift / Prime Soulrift
- Rogue: Dance of Knives → Enhanced Dance of Knives → Methodical Dance of Knives / Disciplined Dance of Knives
- Sorcerer: Familiar → Enhanced Familiar → Summoned Familiar / Invoked Familiar
In addition to these active skills, each class will also receive five new passive abilities. Once learned, these passives will remain constantly active, enhancing various aspects of gameplay.
New Passive Skills by Class:
- Barbarian: Belligerence, Heavy Hitter, Warpath, Irrepressible, Barbed Carapace (Key passive)
- Druid: Humanity, Catastrophe, Feral Aptitude, Backlash, One with Nature (Key passive)
- Necromancer: Necrotic Fortitude, Finality, Titan’s Fall, Precision Decay, Affliction (Key passive)
- Rogue: Target Practice, Crossbow, Evasive, Unto Dawn, Alchemical Admixture (Key passive)
- Sorcerer: Evocation, Energy Focus, Dampen Layer, Elemental Synergies, Enlightenment
These new skills and passives are not the only exciting features of Season 6. A new class, the Spiritborn, is set to debut, complete with its own unique items, Spirit Guardians, and a vast skillset to help players survive the perils of the Nahantu jungle. Alongside these new additions, players can expect further gameplay tweaks and improvements, offering fresh ways to explore builds and strategies.
With all these exciting changes on the horizon, Season 6 promises to keep Diablo 4 players engaged with plenty of new content and gameplay opportunities.
