There’s a game, where toxic players get mass-banned

The NGS team is now taking a stand against hateful behavior and toxicity, banning 1600 players for racism, discrimination, and hateful speech. Players think this number is quite high considering the game’s player base is really low – A screenshot is showing only around 2500 active players at a certain time, and banning 1600 people sounds like a drastic action taken by the publishers.

Toxic players are everywhere, and it’s quite disappointing to read something like this on a game’s official Twitter, because it makes the problem look huge. Maybe it is a huge issue for PSO 2 New Genesis, as players are unsatisfied with these actions. 

Some of the player reviews on Steam say the following:

“SEGA is banning paying players for no reason at all”

“Seeing all those bans from people and how CM treats the issue makes me question the game’s direction of heading.”

“I really liked base PSO2, but NGS has 0 content right now. But it has bad banning system where you can be falsely reported and get permad.”

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is a new free-to-play MMORPG from SEGA, and it’s the latest chapter in the Phantasy Star Online 2 series. The reviews on Steam are not bright, mostly mixed or negative, but it’s a F2P game, so trying it won’t hurt anybody – unless you’re a toxic player.
