The event will start on November 3rd at 6 PM CET and will last for 30 hours.
A quick reminder of what the event is about – players will find penitent spirits in many places around the game world. They will be tasked with bringing the spirits items related to the misdeeds they committed in life. It’ll be a sign for them that their eternal wandering has ended. Where to get these items? By defeating hostile undead who cannot be helped.
“We decided to focus more on Slavic legends to be more consistent with the world of Broken Ranks. After all, the atmosphere is one of the strongest points of our game. Witches on brooms or smiling pumpkins will be nowhere in sight and yet there are many reasons this event is highly anticipated. Take a look yourselves!”, says the founder of the studio, Krzysztof Danilewicz.
The studio emphasizes that the event is quite short but very intense and rich in rewards: gold, boss entry items, various currencies and utility items, experience for players and drifs (gear enchantments). Apart from that, champions will spawn from time to time. Defeating them will provide additional prizes.
Forefathers’ Eve is divided into several level ranges and this year the studio increased their number from 4 to 6. The reason for this was a better adjustment of the difficulty to the character levels. Whitemoon Games listened to player feedback from last year and introduced even more changes during this year’s event, among others:
- Added the NPC Lyrist in Trentis once Forefathers’ Eve is over. He will take any items players didn’t exchange during the event (from their level range) and provide a reward.
- Increased the number of mobs in areas where there were too little of them.
- Implemented a mechanic that will reward everyone in the party for defeating the elite mobs.
More details about the event itself and the full list of changes can be found on the website of Broken Ranks: https://brokenranks.com/en/news/forefathers-eve-2023
It’s also worth mentioning that Whitemoon Games has implemented the multilanguage patch that makes it possible to freely change the language version of the game (within the supported languages). Due to this, they have merged the German, French, Portuguese, and English servers into a single international server. The studio stresses that this is also one of the foundations for the mobile version of Broken Ranks, the first, closed tests of which have completed. More information about them will be shared in the near future.
Broken Ranks is the successor to the MMORPG The Pride of Taern. It boasts a unique, turn-based combat system and a grim, low-fantasy world seen from an isometric view. The title is reminiscent of such classics as the HoM&M series or Baldur’s Gate. Adventurers will be able to find a lot of story-driven quests and a vast, interesting world ready to be explored alone, in a group, or with guildmates.
Broken Ranks is available on PCs through a client.
