There are some good news for those who have backed Camelot Unchained. The full release of the MMORPG developed by City State Entertainment is still a long way off – so far they have raised nearly $4.5 million through Kickstarter.
Camelot Unchained is a crowfunding game, meaning most of the development is covered by donations paid by the community. It first entered Beta phase 1 on July 31, 2018 and has been under ongoing testing ever since. The game’s very first teaser was released in December 2012, so it’s certain that we’ve been waiting 10 years for the game’s development to complete and release. In the past months and years, players are being impatient and skeptical for understandable reasons. Many are uncertain that Camelot Unchained will ever be released, but the latest April update gave us some new hopes.
In a recent newsletter, the CEO of the company, Mark Jacobs, stated the following:
“I’ve been talking about opening up a European server for quite some time. Now, after a lot of work (for a game like CU, it’s not as easy as just dropping the code onto another server), we’re ready to have a weekend test on one based in Germany!”
