It’s always sad to see yet another game’s death. Aika Online was never popular enough, but it had a rock-solid player base for years, even if it was a small group of people.
When the game started back in 2009, they announced it as a large-scale PVP MMORPG with epic 1000 vs 1000 wars. Players could choose from six different classes: Warrior, Paladin, Rifleman, Dual Gunner, Warlock, and Cleric. Leveling was grindy, there were not many quests to do, only a few PVE group-dungeons could end your boredom of leveling. Your ultimate purpose was to reach the maximum level, gear up, and dive into the PVP-fun.
Five different nations were against each other, each nation had its own server with its own temples and altars, where players could place relics. These relics gave various buffs for all the players who played on that particular server. The goal was simple: Sneak into other nations with your group, and steal their relics.
Unfortunately, the game never could reach that magical number of 2000 players who fight in an epic war (at the same time), but it was running for 10+ years, giving lots of fun and heart-warming memories for people.
T3Fun stated the following:
First, we would like to thank everyone who has supported Aika up until today. Unfortunately, we must announce that Aika will end its service on September 15th, 2021, at 00:00 EST. We hope that you enjoyed the time you spent in the world of Lakia.
Please accept our sincerest apologies that we cannot maintain the game indefinitely. This isn’t a decision that we came to lightly and we really hope for your understanding.
…Thank you for loving Aika all this time and we wish to see you again someday in another Lakia. Please don’t forget us!
